Benjamin Romayor Killed, Isaac DeLuna Arrested in DUI Crash on Harris Grade Road [Lompoc, CA]
DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Head-On Crash on Harris Grade Road near Burton Mesa Road in Lompoc
LOMPOC, CA (August 22, 2020) Police identified Benjamin Romayor as the victim who died in a DUI crash on Harris Grade Road on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Burton Mesa Road at approximately 6:30 AM.
Based on a report, a 2017 white BMW driven by Isaac Valentino DeLuna, 20, of Lompoc crossed from the southbound lane into the northbound lane. Consequently, the car collided head-on with a 1995 Ford pickup truck.
As a result, medics said the 68-year-old Lompoc man sustained fatal injuries. In addition, DeLuna received minor injuries, including a laceration to his right hand.
Finally, CHP officers said alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the collision. Consequently, police arrested DeLuna on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol.
