Two Seriously Injured in Red-Light Crash on Deer Valley Road near Asilomar Drive in Antioch

 
ANTIOCH, CA (August 24, 2020) – Police arrested a man after a red-light crash on Deer Valley Road on late Monday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Asilomar Drive around 11:34 PM.
 
Based on a report, the 29-year-old man in a large pickup truck ran a red light at the intersection. Subsequently, it crashed into a small sedan and tried to flee the scene after the incident.
 
Emergency crews spent more than 30 minutes to extricate the male driver and his passenger in the sedan. As a result, medics said both victims suffered serious injuries and were taken via helicopter to a hospital. In addition, one of them remained in critical condition.
 
Officers searched the area and found the pickup truck driver and his passenger a few blocks away. Police booked the driver into the county jail.
