Antonio Navarrete Arrested for DUI in Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident at Main Street [Irvine, CA]
Antonio Navarrete Detained in Deadly Hit-and-Run Two-Car Collision at Main Street and Culver Drive
IRVINE, CA (August 25, 2020)—Police arrested a driver involved in Saturday’s DUI hit-and-run accident at Main Street and Culver Drive.
According to the Irvine Police Department, the crash happened around 8:45 p.m.
An investigation showed that a white Ford F-150 collided with a black Hyundai Elantra under unclear circumstances.
The driver of the Ford—Antonio Calixto Navarrete—fled the scene. However, police became successful in locating his Ford and arresting the 40-year-old man.
Investigators determined that Navarrete was under the influence at the time of the accident. As a result, police arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, felony DUI and murder.
A female passenger inside the Hyundai was rushed to an Orange County hospital soon after the accident. However, she sustained fatal injuries and died.
