Sukhjinder Kaur Killed, Abdi De Leon Uninjured in Two-Vehicle Accident at South Temperance and East Central Avenues
FRESNO, CA (August 24, 2020) — A 45-year-old woman died in Friday’s two-vehicle accident at South Temperance and East Central avenues.
According to The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Sukhjinder Kaur has been identified as the fatal victim in the crash.
Around 1:00 p.m., Kaur reportedly rolled through a stop sign. After that, the car drove into the path of an eastbound Izuzu box truck, which had the right of the way.
California Highway Patrol spokesman Mike Salas said Kaur’s Honda Civic sustained major damage to the driver’s side.
Unfortunately, she died in the accident.
Kaur’s right-front passenger suffered major injuries, later receiving medical care at Community Regional Medical Center.
According to reports, Abdi De Leon, the 34-year-old man driving the box truck escaped injury, as well as his passenger.
Per CHP, everyone involved wore seatbelts. However, neither alcohol nor drugs had played a factor in the accident.
Our heartfelt sympathies are with the friends and family of Sukhjinder Kaur. We hope you find comfort and strength during this time.
