Man Dies in San Diego T-Bone Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 24, 2020) — A broadside accident on Caliente Avenue near Highway 905 turned fatal Friday morning, reports noted.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car accident happened around 5:15 a.m.
CHP Officer Sal Castro said a driver of a black Chevrolet Traverse exiting Highway 905 at Caliente Avenue broadsided a red Lexus.
Unfortunately, the 41-year-old San Diego man driving the red Lexus died in the accident. However, the 51-year-old operating the Traverse remains hospitalized.
According to an investigation, for unknown reasons, the Chevy driver struck a road sign and a junction box before striking the Lexus as he exited the highway. As a result, the Chevy subsequently traveled down a small embankment before it came to a stop.
Per reports, the traffic light at the intersection sustained significant damage, urging crews to close off the area.
However, if anyone has more information on this fatal accident, please call officers.
Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim.
