One Killed, One Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Cascade Terrace [Sunnyvale, CA]
Single Vehicle Involved in Fatal Crash on Cascade Terrace in Sunnyvale
SUNNYVALE, CA (August 22, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a suspected DUI crash in the 500 block of Cascade Terrace on Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at approximately 11:07 PM.
Based on a report, the 33-year-old man was inside a vehicle that hit a concrete sound wall. At this point, officials did not yet release the details that led to the crash.
Emergency crews said the victim died at the scene. They did not yet release his identity pending kin notification. In addition, another man inside the car suffered injuries.
The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety found the vehicle with major damages.
Finally, officers believed that impairment by alcohol and/or drugs was a factor in the collision. However, the investigation into the case is on-going.
