Injuries Reported After Big Rig and Pickup Truck Crash on 10 Freeway [Banning, CA]
At Least 1 Injured in Banning Big Rig-Truck Collision
BANNING, CA (August 21, 2020)—At least one person sustained injuries after a big rig and a pickup truck crashed on the 10 Freeway near North 8th Street.
According to reports, the incident happened around 7:14 a.m. and involved a gray Toyota Tundra and a semi-truck.
At some point during the crash, the big rig flipped over and jack-knifed, blocking all eastbound freeway lanes. Although California Highway Patrol officers reported injuries, it is unclear as to how severe they were or how many people were hurt.
Due to the accident, about a hundred gallons of diesel fuel cascaded onto the freeway, which summoned a hazardous materials cleanup crew to the scene.
At this time, the cause of the accident remains unclear, but if anyone has more information, please contact the CHP.
