Thomas Biggs, Susan Biggs Die in Crash on Highway 70 [San Carlos, AZ]
Couple Killed in San Carlos Car Accident
SAN CARLOS, AZ (August 14, 2020) – Police identified 79-year-old Thomas Biggs and his wife, 74-year-old Susan Biggs as the victims who died in a crash on Highway 70 on Friday afternoon.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at milepost 264, five miles southeast of the San Carlos Apache Airport around 1:36 PM.
Based on a report, the victims’ vehicle crashed with an unidentified vehicle belonging to a San Carlos Police officer. The officer was westbound when he made a U-turn. Due to an unknown reason, the couple’s eastbound car stuck it. Consequently, it rolled onto its roof while the couple’s car went off to the south side of the roadway.
As a result, medics said the male Biggs died at the scene. Crews transported his wife to a nearby hospital, where she later died. In addition, medics also took the officer to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation into the case is ongoing.
