Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Car Driven by 83-Year-Old Jeremy Raikes on Bohemian Highway near Occidental Camp Meeker Road in Occidental
OCCIDENTAL, CA (August 15, 2020) – Police identified Miles Chenoweth as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident on Bohemian Highway on Saturday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Occidental Camp Meeker Road around 10:17 PM.
Based on a report, the 29-year-old resident of Sebastopol was walking northbound on Bohemian Highway with a friend prior to the accident. At that time, Jeremy Raikes, 83, of Monte Rio was driving northbound and didn’t see the victim in the roadway. Consequently, Raikes struck Chenoweth.
As a result, medics transported the pedestrian to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. His friend was not hurt in the incident.
Officers said Raikes was not driving under the influence at the time of the crash. However, they continue to investigate the case. In addition, they ask anyone with additional information to call the CHP office at 707-588-1400.
