Man Hospitalized in San Diego DUI Crash on Mission Bay Drive
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 20, 2020) — A DUI driver crashed into a parked vehicle Wednesday in a DUI crash on Mission Bay Drive near Clairemont Drive, injuring a man sleeping inside.
According to San Diego Police officers, the 5:20 a.m. accident happened between Clairemont and SeaWorld drives.
The unidentified 21-year-old man driving on East Mission Bay Drive lost control of his vehicle. Subsequently, it struck a parked car on the east curb, injuring a 58-year-old man asleep inside.
Due to the impact, the parked car lurched a bit forward and struck a third car; however, a person sleeping inside the third vehicle escaped harm.
Shortly after the accident, police arrested the 21-year-old driver on suspicion of DUI.
