Man in Wheelchair Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Astoria Street [Sylmar, CA]
Man in Wheelchair Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Astoria Street in Sylmar
SYLMAR, CA (August 11, 2020) – A man in a wheelchair died after a pedestrian accident in the 13900 block of Astoria Street on Tuesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 9:51 PM.
Based on a report, a silver Ford F-250 pickup truck struck the victim. Consequently, the impact ejected him from his wheelchair. However, officials did not yet release the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Firefighters paramedics attempted to revive the victim but he died due to severe injuries. Officials did not release his identity pending kin notification.
The driver of the pickup that struck the man remained on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement. At this point, the case remains under investigation.
