REDWOOD CITY, CA (August 4, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person got killed in a train accident on the tracks south of the Whipple Avenue grade crossing on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened shortly before 7:30 AM.
Based on a report from Caltrain, the pedestrian was trespassing on the tracks prior to the accident. At that time, a northbound train No. 215 came and hit the victim.
Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. They did not release the person’s identity pending notification of next of kin. In addition, there were about 25 people aboard the train and no one was hurt in the incident.
