3 People Hurt in Police Pursuit Accident in Kent
KENT, WA (August 6, 2020) — A police chase that resulted in a multi-car accident on Highway 167 at South 277th Street left three injured.
According to the Washington State Patrol, officials saw a BMW driver speeding southbound on Highway 167 around 7:00 p.m. As officers tried pulling over the driver, the BMW sped off, resulting in a police chase.
As the BMW traveled erratically along the highway, it exited South 277th Street where it collided with three other cars waiting at a traffic light.
Relentless in trying to escape officers, the driver exited the vehicle and ran off; however, a King County Sheriff’s deputy became successful in arresting the 19-year-old suspect, who needed hospital care at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for his injuries.
Officers plan to arrest him on charges of felony eluding, vehicular assault and hit-and-run.
As for the other patients, paramedics brought a 58-year-old woman and a 28-year-old woman to nearby hospitals. Three children who had been riding with the 28-year-old women were not injured, fortunately.
No other information regarding this accident was available.
