Driver Detained Following DUI Collision in Spring Valley
SPRING VALLEY, CA (August 4, 2020)—A 26-year-old man faces charges of DUI after crashing into parked cars early Monday on Akard Street near Kempton Street.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Travis Garrow, the man lost control of his 2002 Toyota Tundra while traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Akard Street.
Around 5:15 a.m., he crashed his pickup truck into parked vehicles, a water hydrant and a tree before overturning in his vehicle.
Subsequently, the driver tried escaping on foot, but police officers became quick to detain the unidentified driver.
Miraculously, the driver evaded injury; however, he did not evade an arrest as police booked him into jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, hit-and-run and resisting arrest.
