TUKWILA, WA (July 29, 2020) – Police confirmed that a motorcyclist died in a hit-and-run on Highway 599 on Wednesday evening.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened near East Marginal Way.
Based on a report, the 33-year-old rider was seen speeding along the highway prior to the incident. For an unknown reason, he lost control and crashed in the lanes. As a result, the impact ejected the rider into the adjacent lane, where a Nissan Sentra struck him. The driver of the Sentra got out of the car and ran off.
The rider died at the scene. Troopers did not release his name pending kin notification.
Finally, an initial investigation showed that speed caused the crash. However, police are still looking for the Nissan driver for an investigation of DUI and felony hit-and-run. Troopers identified the suspect as a 23-year-old man from Renton.
