Bronson White, Richard Lorge Killed in Car Crash at Twentynine Palms Highway [Joshua Tree, CA]
Bronson White, Richard Lorge Perish in Two-Vehicle Accident at Twentynine Palms Highway and California Road
JOSHUA TREE, CA (July 31, 2020)—A two-car collision at Twentynine Palms Highway and California Road Wednesday morning tragically claimed two lives.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the victims have been identified as 62-year-old Bronson White and 77-year-old Richard Lorge. Both were residents of Twentynine Palms.
In their investigation, authorities learned that the 2003 Ford Thunderbird operated by White was heading westbound on the highway when for unknown reasons it drifted to the right. White subsequently lost total control of the Ford, causing the vehicle to travel across all lanes before spinning out.
The Ford then hit the left-front of Lorge’s eastbound 1985 Toyota pickup truck.
Shortly after, paramedics responded and transported both drivers to an area hospital with major injuries. Unfortunately, Lorge died at 12:01 p.m. at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. It’s unclear at what time and where White died.
Because information surrounding this crash remains unclear, the CHP urges witnesses’ help in identifying what factors played a role.
Our deepest sympathies are with the families and friends of Bronson White and Richard Lorge.
