Jorge Guerra Dies After Hit-and-Run on Wadsworth Avenue [Los Angeles, CA]

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 8, 2020) – Police confirmed that Jorge Guerra died after a hit-and-run on Wadsworth Avenue on Wednesday evening.
According to California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just north of 88th Street around 8:40 PM.
Based on a report, the 37-year-old father and his two young children were riding their bicycles northbound on Wadsworth prior to the crash. At that time, a 1997 Honda Accord driving at a high rate of speed struck them from behind.
As a result, the victim sustained life-threatening injuries. He later died at a hospital as confirmed by the coroner’s office. The children were not seriously hurt.
The car driver kept going and then crashed into three parked vehicles near Manchester Boulevard, where the suspect got out and ran away.
At this point, police don’t have additional information. However, they are offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the hit-and-run driver.
