Nicholas Tews Arrested After Scooter Crash on Iron Springs Road at Miller Valley Road in Prescott
PRESCOTT, AZ (July 20, 2020) – Police identified 19-year-old Logan Springs as the victim who suffered injuries in a DUI crash on Iron Springs Road on Monday evening.
According to Prescott Police, the collision happened at Miller Valley Road around 10:25 PM.
Based on a report, the victim was riding a kick scooter when he collided with a 2008 Nissan pickup truck. An initial assessment showed that the truck driver, 22-year-old Nicholas Tews of Prescott was attempting to make a left turn from Miller Valley when the collision occurred.
As a result, Springs sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews sent him to Honor Health Deer Valley Medical Center through a helicopter.
Tews exhibited signs and symptoms consistent with recent drug use. Consequently, police placed him under arrest for driving under the influence. Finally, they booked him into the Yavapai County Jail for charges of felony misconduct involving a weapon during the commission of a drug offense, driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
