David Gutierrez Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Truck on 5 Freeway [Sun Valley, CA]

24-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Pedestrian Accident in Sun Valley

 
SUN VALLEY, CA (July 19, 2020) – Police confirmed that a possible semi-truck struck and killed David Gutierrez on 5 Freeway on Sunday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Lankershim Boulevard around 10:40 PM.
 
Based on a report, the truck left the scene after the incident. CHP Officer Vince Ramirez said it’s possible that the truck driver didn’t know he hit anyone that night.
 
The coroner’s office identified the victim as David Gutierrez, 24, of Moorpark in Ventura County. There was no word on why he was on the freeway.
 
The CHP is still investigating the case. Officers ask anyone with information on the case to call the CHP Altadena Area office at 626-296-8100.
