Fatal Pittsburg Accident at Railroad Avenue
PITTSBURG, CA (July 23, 2020) — One person died Tuesday morning following a car accident at Railroad Avenue and Buchanan Road.
Around 9:20 a.m., the two cars collided around 9:20 a.m., resulting in one car overturned on Railroad Avenue and the other overturned in a yard, which shut down the intersection.
According to the Pittsburg Police Department Fatal Accident Response Team, the car with the two occupants was traveling northbound on Railroad Avenue and collided with the other vehicle heading east on Buchanan Road.
Three people suffered minor to life-threatening injuries, authorities confirmed.
Per reports, the driver and passenger of one car sustained life-threatening injuries. However, the driver died shortly after at a nearby hospital.
At this point, authorities have not confirmed if impairment played a factor. However, police are conducting an investigation.
