Kirk Wheeler Dies in Two-Car Accident on 82 Freeway Near Highway 22

 
PROSSER, WA (July 21, 2020) — A 60-year-old man died in a head-on crash with a semi-truck Saturday morning on the 82 Freeway near Highway 22.
 
The incident happened around 5:00 a.m. near Prosser. According to a report, Kirk Wheeler traveled over the median for unknown reasons. As a result, his vehicle slammed into a semi-truck heading westbound.
 
The Mabton man died in the accident and the semi-truck driver escaped injury.
 
Investigators are unsure as to what drove the accident but will continue their examination of the crash.
