Lance Gray Dies in Two-Car Accident on Highway 64 [Chama, NM]
Lance Gray Killed in Collision on Highway 64 Near Elk Drive
CHAMA, NM (July 21, 2020) — A 59-year-old man lost his life following a two-vehicle crash Sunday night on Highway 64 near Elk Drive.
According to a New Mexico State Police news release, Lance Gray died at the scene of the two-car collision.
Around 9:40 p.m., a woman operating a 1993 Jeep, heading westbound on the highway, struck an elk under unknown conditions. The Jeep subsequently rolled over and struck the side of Gray’s 1972 Chevrolet truck.
Per reports, the 21-year-old woman from Jemez Springs escaped harm.
Alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as possible factors in the accident; however, an ongoing investigation remains.
