2 Drivers Hurt in Phoenix Accident
PHOENIX, AZ (July 17, 2020) — A two-vehicle crash on 10 Freeway near East University Drive Thursday morning sent two people to nearby hospitals.
According to news reports, a driver of a dump truck crossed over the eastbound lanes and into the westbound lanes for unknown reasons.
The dump truck subsequently struck a passenger vehicle, trapping that driver in the car.
Crews had to shut down the carpool and No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes due to investigation and clean up.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the dump truck driver and passenger vehicle driver to a hospital for further evaluation.
However, it’s unclear what had led to the accident, but officers plan to investigate this case further.
You cannot control the actions of other drivers, but you can monitor yours. When driving, stay out of people’s blind spots, be aware of reckless drivers and keep a three-second cushion from the vehicle ahead of you. Defensive driving can save you grief and protect you, as well as others, from harm.
