45-Year-Old Compton Man Killed in Los Angeles Car Accident
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 12, 2020) – Police identified Charlton Caldwell as the victim who died in a multi-vehicle crash on 106th Street on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Vermont Avenue at approximately 9:35 PM.
Based on a report, a white 2007 BMW 328i going eastbound on 106th failed to stop for a stop sign at Vermont. As a result, the vehicle traveled directly into the path of another white 2007 BMW and struck its left rear. At that time, Caldwell’s 2007 black Saab 20T tried to avoid the crash by turning his car to the left. As a result, he left the roadway and struck a tree.
Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene. He was a 45-year-old man from Compton. In addition, crews took a 39-year-old man from Los Angeles to Centinela Hospital Medical Center with minor injuries.
Crews blocked four lanes of the road for the crash investigation. At this point, police don’t have additional details related to the crash.
