Star Baggett-Porter Arrested, Ebodio Castro Injured in DUI Accident on Highway 101 [Santa Rosa, CA]
Star Baggett-Porter Detained, Luis Ortiz and Ebodio Castro Involved in DUI 3-Car Accident on Highway 101 Near 3rd Street
SANTA ROSA, CA (July 10, 2020) – A three-vehicle DUI collision Thursday on Highway 101 near 3rd Street left at least one person with injuries.
According to reports, a 2013 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Star Baggett-Porter of Arizona, rear-ended a 2014 Toyota Tacoma in the left lane of the highway.
The impact that occurred around 7:10 a.m. caused 37-year-old Luis Orea Ortiz to lose control of his Toyota Tacoma. As a result, it collided with a 2003 Nissan Frontier, driven by 40-year-old Ebodio Osorio Castro.
As a result, both pickup trucks overturned, and the Toyota Tacoma rolled past the edge of the freeway and plunged down a nearby embankment.
The Toyota came to a stop on a dirt patch near the 3rd Street off-ramp. At the same time, the Chevrolet Impala and the Nissan Frontier came to a rest on the freeway.
Paramedics transported Castro, of Rohnert Park, to a hospital with minor injuries. As for Rohnert Park resident Ortiz and 31-year-old Baggett-Porter, they sustained no injuries.
Police officers say DUI likely played a role on Baggett-Porter’s part and booked her into the Sonoma County jail with a $100,000 bail.
Driving while impaired is a recipe for disaster that you should avoid. If you find that you are intoxicated due to a mind-altering substance, look to other forms of transportation such as a trusted friend or a Rideshare service.
