One Killed, Two Injured in Solo-Car Accident on 190th Street [Torrance, CA]
23-Year-Old Woman Killed in Accident on 190th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard in Torrance
TORRANCE, CA (July 8, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died and two suffered injuries in a single-car accident on 190th Street on early Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Crenshaw Boulevard around 12:30 AM.
Based on a report, a 22-year-old Torrance man’s Dodge Charger was speeding when it went over the center median. As a result, it crashed into a light pole at the southwest corner of the road.
Crews pronounced one person dead at the scene. They described the victim as a 23-year-old woman from Redondo Beach. In addition, a 22-year-old Compton woman and a 23-year-old Torrance woman sustained significant injuries. Crews sent them and the driver to the hospital for treatment. Crews treated and released another passenger at the scene.
Firefighters closed the intersection for approximately nine hours during the investigation.
Torrance Police did not release additional information. However, they continue to investigate the case.
