Man Injured in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Hit, Injured by Hit-and-Run Motorcyclist in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 7, 2020) — A man suffered a dislocated hip Sunday after being struck by a hit-and-run motorcyclist in a pedestrian accident on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard near Voltaire Street.
According to San Diego Police Officer John Buttle, the incident happened at approximately 8:40 p.m. during stopped traffic.
Buttle stated that a 51-year-old man on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, heading north on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, veered to the left to avoid a line of cars stopped at a red traffic light.
However, while heading northbound, his bike struck a 26-year-old man on the east side of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard.
Investigators learned that the pedestrian crossed the road between stopped cars before the bike hit him.
Per reports, he suffered a dislocated hip; however, the rider did not stick around to answer the police’s questions about the crash and instead, fled the scene, leaving his female passenger behind.
If anyone has information surrounding the whereabouts of the rider, please contact local authorities.
