Police Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run on Gaffey Street [San Pedro, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Hits Police officer in San Pedro Pedestrian Crash
SAN PEDRO, CA (June 26, 2020) – A police officer suffered injuries in a hit-and-run in the 3500 block of South Gaffey Street on Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 8:20 PM.
A report said that a black Chevrolet Camaro struck the officer and fled the scene. However, it did not state what led to the incident. Authorities said they took a report for an assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
Paramedics found the officer down in the road. Crews took the victim to the hospital with minor injuries. He remained in stable condition.
Police found the Camaro near the scene. However, the driver remained at large.
Officials continue to investigate the case. However, they don’t have further information about the incident this time.
