Man Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Carmel Valley Road [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Car in Torrey Highlands Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 27, 2020) – A 62-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident in the 14200 block of Carmel Valley Road on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened in Torrey Highlands at approximately 8:16 AM.
Reports showed that the victim was running in an attempt to cross the street in a designated crosswalk prior to the accident. At the same time, a 2014 Honda Civic had the green light and was traveling westbound on the road. As a result, the pedestrian ran into the driver’s door.
Paramedics said the man suffered major head trauma.
The driver of the car was identified as a 24-year-old man. He is cooperating with the San Diego Police Department. However, police do not have additional details as of this time.
