David Stame Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Warner Avenue [Huntington Beach, CA]
David Stame Fatally Hit by Vehicle on Warner Avenue
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (June 29, 2020) — A 54-year-old man lost his life following Friday’s pedestrian crash on Warner Avenue near Bolsa Chica Street.
According to Sgt. Matthew Austin of the Huntington Beach Police Department and the coroner’s office, David Stame died in the 11:05 p.m. accident.
In their investigation, detectives determined that a gray 2018 Hyundai Elantra, heading westbound on Warner Avenue, struck Stame. Evidence points that the 54-year-old man was crossing northbound at Bolsa Chica Street before the incident took place.
Officers arrived shortly after to find him with considerable injuries before paramedics rushed him to a hospital where, despite life-saving efforts, he died.
Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have had played a role in the accident, say detectives.
However, details surrounding at what speed the 66-year-old driver had been traveling and if Stame used a marked crosswalk at the time of impact have yet to be confirmed.
