Steven Riggs Rescued from Fiery Crash on Highway 120 [Oakdale, CA]
Deputy and Witness Rescue Man as Vehicle Catches Fire in Oakdale Rollover Accident
OAKDALE, CA (June 21, 2020) – A Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy and a witness rescued Steven Riggs from a fiery crash on Highway 120 on Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Willms Road around 2:40 PM.
A report showed that, for an unknown reason, Riggs’ vehicle veered off the highway and rolled over as it went down an embankment.
Deputy Saul McNaul saw the crash while he was patrolling in the area. With the help of another witness, John Phelps, they pulled Riggs through the broken rear window of his pickup truck cab as flames began to shoot out from beneath the hood.
Emergency crews found Riggs bloodied from his injuries.
