Driver Injured in Fiery Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 152 [Chowchilla, CA]
Semi-Truck Catches Fire in Collision near Road 9 in Merced County
CHOWCHILLA, CA (June 23, 2020) – A driver suffered injuries in a fiery semi-truck crash on Highway 152 on early Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Road 9 around 6:00 AM.
A report showed that a car was traveling south on Road 9 when it ran a stop sign. As a result, it collided with the diesel truck hauling garlic. In addition, the impact caused both vehicles to spin out of control. Lastly, the big rig caught fire in the incident.
The truck driver was able to escape the fire. The victim suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the car had a broken leg.
The investigation is still ongoing. However, the police did not release additional details.
