Elva Andrade Killed, Jacob Caliboso Detained in Oxnard DUI Car Accident

 
OXNARD, CA (June 25, 2020) — A woman died, and a child suffered major injuries following Monday’s DUI crash at East Pleasant Valley and Laguna roads.
 
The incident befell around 9:15 p.m. and involved a vehicle and a scooter.
 
Authorities determined that 21-year-old Jacob A. Caliboso was intoxicated when he allowed his westbound Acura sedan to cross over into oncoming traffic along East Pleasant Valley Road.
 
His Acura subsequently collided head-on with a scooter, ejecting its female operator and her 7-year-old female passenger, both of whom wore their helmets.
 
The woman, whom authorities identified as 55-year-old Elva Andrade of Camarillo, died as a result of the accident.
 
The young girl suffered major injuries, urging paramedics to transport her to a nearby hospital.
 
In their initial investigation, officers arrested Caliboso, of Oxnard, on suspicion of DUI and felony gross vehicular manslaughter; however, if any witnesses would like to add to the investigation, please call the department.
