Asa Graham and Valery Blood Killed, Braisy Blood Hurt in Flagstaff Crash
FLAGSTAFF, AZ (June 23, 2020) — A two-vehicle accident on Highway 89 near Milepost 450 Friday afternoon tragically claimed two lives.
According to Highway Patrol public information officer Bart Graves, the incident happened around 4:00 p.m. Authorities responded to reports of a two-car crash just 30 miles north of Flagstaff.
Investigators determined that 21-year-old Henderson, Nev., resident Asa Graham was at the wheel of a Chevrolet Malibu heading southbound on the highway.
For unknown reasons, she veered over the center line. As a result, she struck a northbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
The brute force of the impact killed Graham, as well as 45-year-old Valery Blood — a passenger in the Chevrolet Silverado.
Paramedics transported the 23-year-old Durango man driving the Chevrolet and his 16-year-old female passenger to a local hospital with serious injuries.
A GoFundMe page created for Valery confirmed that Braisy Blood was the 16-year-old Chevrolet passenger, who sustained major injuries in the accident. She faces a long road to recovery ahead.
Authorities have yet to uncover more details related to the accident. So far, they have determined that Graham had used a shoulder and lap belt. In addition, the Silverado driver used his lap belt while Braisy wore a shoulder and lap belt. However, Valery neglected to properly wear the shoulder portion of her seatbelt.
In light of this tragic news, we would like to express our condolences to the friends and families of Asa Graham and Valery Blood.
