Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on Fir Avenue [Moreno Valley, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted After Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Moreno Valley
MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 21, 2020) – Police confirmed that a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run on Fir Avenue on early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Cognac Lane at about 2:00 AM.
A report from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station showed that a vehicle struck the victim. However, the vehicle fled the scene after the crash. In addition, officers located the severely injured victim down in the middle of the roadway.
As a result, emergency crews transported the victim to an area hospital, where he/she died due to severe injuries. Officials did not release the victim’s identity pending identification and notification of the person’s family.
Due to the crash, deputies called for the temporary closure of Fir Avenue to give way to a clearing operation.
Deputies did not release additional information related to the crash. However, they are continuing to search for the hit-and-run driver.
