4 Hurt in Santa Maria Car Crash
SANTA MARIA, CA (June 23, 2020)—Four people suffered minor to serious injuries following Saturday’s single-car crash on Highway 166 near Tepusquet Road.
According to Cal Fire San Luis Obispo, four people survived the single-vehicle accident; however, two people were airlifted with major injuries to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
Authorities have not confirmed what caused the passenger vehicle to veer off Highway 166 and plunge off the side of the highway around 2:45 p.m.
Reports noted that the four patients needed to be extricated by firefighters from the wrecked car.
As a result of the accident, officers had to shut down the eastbound lanes at South Thompson due to investigations.
