One Dead, One Critical in Motorcycle Accident on Camp Steffani Road [Carmel Valley, CA]
SUV Collides with Two Motorcycles in Fatal Accident in Carmel Valley
CARMEL VALLEY, CA (June 20, 2020) – One person died and another became critical in a a motorcycle accident on Camp Steffani Road on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near State Route 16 at approximately 10:48 AM.
An initial report showed that the victims were traveling on different motorcycles when they collided with an SUV driven by an 89-year-old driver. However, officials did not release the circumstances that led to the crash.
As a result, emergency crews pronounced one rider dead at the scene. They identified the victim as a 54-year-old Fremont resident. They sent the second rider to the hospital for critical injuries.
Police said drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash. However, they continue to investigate the case.
