Lawrence Griffin Killed in Head-On Accident on 24th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]

One Killed, One Hospitalized in Head-On Accident in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (June 17, 2020) – Police identified Lawrence Griffin as the victim who died in a head-on crash on 24th Avenue on Wednesday morning.
 
According to Phoenix Police, the collision happened near Dunlap Avenue at approximately 8:00 AM.
 
Reports showed 53-year-old Lawrence Edward Griffin driving a Chevy Cavalier east on Dunlap Avenue when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. As a result, the Chevy collided with a Toyota Rav4 that was westbound on Dunlap Avenue.
 
Emergency crews pronounced Griffin dead at the scene. In addition, they sent the 45-year-old woman who was driving the Rav4 to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
 
It’s not clear why Griffin’s Cavalier crossed the center line. However, police continue to investigate the case.
