Svyatoslav Solovyev Arrested After Fatal DUI Accident on Highway 85 [San Jose, CA]
61-Year-Old Woman Killed, Svyatoslav Solovyev Detained in San Jose DUI Crash
SAN JOSE, CA (June 15, 2020) – Police arrested Svyatoslav Solovyev after a deadly DUI crash on Highway 85 on late Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just south of Union Avenue around 11:36 PM.
The 33-year-old Cupertino resident was speeding in a 2020 BMW M8 when he made an unsafe lane change. As a result, the BMW hit the left side of a 2006 Subaru before it continued and hit a 2016 Hyundai Accent. In addition, the Hyundai crashed into a 2007 Toyota Camry.
As a result, the Hyundai driver, a 61-year-old Hollister woman, died in Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Crews did not release her name pending kin notification.
Police arrested Solovyev on suspicion of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. However, they asked anyone with information about the crash to call the CHP’s San Jose-area office at (408) 467-5400.
