Vehicle and Motorcycle Crash at Ocean Boulevard Kills Off-Duty Police Officer Anton Fischer
LONG BEACH, CA (June 4, 2020) – Long Beach police officer Anton Fischer died in a motorcycle crash on 7th Place on Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Ocean Boulevard around 2:25 PM.
Fischer, who was off-duty at that time, was heading to work on his motorcycle when he crashed with another vehicle. An initial report indicated that the victim struck the side of a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee when the it made a left turn from 7th Place.
Crews transported Fischer to a hospital, where he died due to severe injuries.
The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
