Tow Truck Runs Red Light, Crashes Into Multiple Cars in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 5, 2020) — A multi-car crash on Main Street and West Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard left eight people, including two officers, hurt Wednesday.
According to authorities, two Los Angeles Police Department officers were among the eight people injured in the 10 p.m. accident.
Paramedics arrived to learn that at least one of the officers required extrication from a wrecked vehicle. After freeing the officer, paramedics brought a total of eight people to nearby hospitals in minor to critical condition.
Investigators learned that one of the involved cars, a tow truck, ran a red light while responding to an emergency. It then crashed into multiple vehicles at the intersection, including a patrol vehicle that was responding to a report.
The current condition of the patients is not available.
The roads have traffic lights and road signs placed in to streamline travel and to keep everyone safe. We must obey them. However, in many cases, if not all, we should be wary of our surroundings, for we might find drivers who will not adhere to them.
