Two Drivers Killed in Head-On Crash on Frazier Lake Road [Gilroy, CA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Gilroy Accident
GILROY, CA (June 2, 2020) – Police confirmed that two drivers got killed in a head-on crash on Frazier Lake Road on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Bloomfield Avenue at approximately 8:00 AM.
A report showed that a Nissan Altima traveling about 50-55 mph southbound on Frazier Lake Road drifted off the right shoulder and hit a metal guardrail. In addition, it careened off the guardrail and veered into the northbound lane of the road. As a result, it then crashed head-on into an approaching Nissan Frontier. The Frontier was also traveling about 50-55 mph.
Crews proclaimed the A 53-year-old Altima driver and the 37-year-old Frontier driver dead at the scene. Both men are from Hollister. Crews did not release their names pending kin notification. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
Police did not release further details. However, they asked anyone with information about the collision to call CHP at (408) 848-2324.
