Barry Dantzler Strikes, Kills Bicyclist on Blackstone Street [Tulare, CA]
Barry Dantzler Arrested Following Deadly Tulare Bicycle Accident
TULARE, CA (June 2, 2020) — A female bicyclist died after a car that was fleeing from police struck her along North Blackstone Street near Highway 99.
The incident first unfolded when officers tried arresting Barry Tarrell Dantzler, who they believe might have been the prime suspect of a homicide in the 1500 block of South Thomas Court.
Earlier, officers found 37-year-old Heather Sloan dead in her home and considered Dantzler a person of interest. Upon spotting the 30-year-old man, officers tried making a traffic stop; however, Dantzler led them on a police chase.
At some point, Dantzler lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole before rolling over and hitting a woman on a bike.
Unfortunately, the woman died at the scene. However, her identity has not been released by authorities.
Police took Dantzler into custody and now he faces charges of homicide, home invasion, death of a bicyclist and others.
