Passing Vehicle Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 25, 2020) – Police confirmed that a big rig driver died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the Deschutes Road exit at approximately 4:00 AM.
According to the CHP report, the big rig initially crashed into the guardrail. Apparently, the driver exited the driver’s side of the truck. As a result, an unidentified passing vehicle struck him.
Emergency crews found him lying in the southbound lanes. They proclaimed him dead on the scene. However, they withhold his identity pending kin notification.
Police did not have information regarding the involved vehicle. However, they continue to investigate the case.
