Bicyclist Dies in Collision Involving Motorcyclist on Auberry Road and Millerton Road [Clovis, CA]
Cyclist Killed in Clovis Accident on Auberry Road and Millerton Road
CLOVIS, CA (May 26, 2020) — A man in his 70s perished Sunday in a bicycle crash on Auberry Road and Millerton Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident befell around noon when the Clovis man was pedaling southbound on the right shoulder of Auberry Road.
An oncoming motorcycle, approaching from behind and traveling at speeds of 55 miles per hour, subsequently collided with the cyclist.
Sgt. Mike Trenholm said that the bicyclist had attempted a U-turn in front of the rider, consequently causing a collision between the two.
The unidentified man died as a result; meanwhile, the rider suffered arm pain and received treatment at Community Regional Medical Center. There was no other information regarding the accident, but if witnesses would like to help officers, they should contact the department.
