Gessica Leuscher Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Highway 273 [Redding, CA]
Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident near Buenaventura Boulevard
REDDING, CA (May 18, 2020) – Police identified Gessica Leuscher as the motorist who fatally struck a pedestrian on Highway 273 on Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Buenaventura Boulevard around 10:00 PM.
A report from Redding Police showed Leuscher driving on the northbound lane before the crash. She said that a woman ran across the road in front of her. As a result, she struck the victim before she was able to make a stop.
Emergency crews declared the woman dead at the scene. They did not release her identity pending kin notification.
Police determined that Gessica Leuscher was not impaired at the time of the accident. As a result, officials released her. However, they continue to investigate the incident.
