Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Caltrans Train near Capitol Station [San Jose, CA]

Caltrain Train Involved in Fatal Accident near Monterey Road

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 16, 2020) – Police confirmed that a pedestrian died after he was struck by a Caltrans train just south of Capitol Station on Saturday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Monterey Road at approximately 10:45 AM.
 
A Caltrain locomotive JPBX 909 heading south toward Gilroy struck the man who was at the tracks at that time.
 
As a result, an attending coroner declared the victim dead at the scene. The person’s name was not available.
 
CHP did not release more information regarding the crash. However, officials continue to investigate the case.
