Emily Curtis, Trinidad Rees Hit, Killed by Car at West Waddell and North Litchfield Roads
SURPRISE, AZ (May 19, 2020)—Tragedy unfolded Sunday afternoon when a vehicle struck and killed two women at West Waddell and North Litchfield roads.
Police have identified the two victims as 79-year-old Emily Curtis and 65-year-old Trinidad Rees, both of Surprise.
Paramedics responded to the scene to find the victims with serious injuries and immediately transported them to a hospital; however, despite life-saving efforts, both women died at the hospital.
Officers believe the pair was crossing outside of a crosswalk in a construction zone area when the driver hit them around 8:30 p.m. Through the investigations, officers ruled out DUI as a contributing factor of the accident, thus charges have not been filed.
