Driver Killed in High-Speed Crash Into Home Near Unser Boulevard and Atrisco Drive [Albuquerque, NM]
Fatal Car Accident in Albuquerque Sends Homeowner to Hospital at Unser Boulevard and Atrisco Drive
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (May 19, 2020) — A driver died following Friday’s fiery crash near Unser Boulevard and Atrisco Drive Northwest.
According to reports, Albuquerque Fire Rescue and Albuquerque police responded to the scene to find a car engulfed in flames. Fortunately, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes, containing it to the porch, which sustained minor damage.
Shortly after, officials found the driver of the charred sports car deceased at the scene. Investigators believe the car sailed through the air and crashed into the Westside home before rupturing into flames.
Speeding might have played a role in the 4 a.m. accident, which took place in the 4900 block of Whisper Wind Northwest.
As a result of the accident, paramedics transported the homeowner to a hospital for further evaluation. Information, including the fatal victim’s identity, was not included in the report.
