4 Killed, Rabbi Khanna Arrested in DUI Crash on Highway 58 [San Jose, CA]
Rabbi Khanna Faces Charges Following San Jose Rollover Crash That Killed 4
SAN JOSE, CA (May 15, 2020) — Four people died following Wednesday’s DUI rollover crash on Highway 58 near Cottle Road.
According to California Highway Patrol officer Ross Lee, the crash happened around 10:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes.
A witness testified to seeing a 2005 Dodge Durango driving at a high rate of speed prior to the impact. Reports say that the Dodge SUV was shuttling six people inside, including the driver. At some point, the Dodge veered off the roadway, overturned several times and landed on its wheels.
Three men died at the scene and were described as ages 26, 26 and 25. Paramedics transported a 25-year-old woman with grave injuries to a hospital where she died.
A fifth male passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries while the driver sustained minor injuries.
In their investigation, CHP identified Rabbi Kumar Khanna, a 26-year-old San Jose resident, as the driver of the Dodge.
Investigators believe impairment played a role in the accident, which most likely could lead to Khanna facing vehicular manslaughter charges on top of his DUI charge.
Reports did not specify the identities of the fatal victims in this crash.
With deepest sympathies, we would like to send our thoughts of comfort and strength to the families and friends of the victims.
